New York, September 7, 2006 – Conde Nast’s Fashion Rocks concert rocked Radio City Music Hall on Thursday, and by late afternoon, you couldn’t walk down the street without presenting a pass to police officers. We can only guess what Natalie Reid, the Fake Paris Hilton, gave the officers to get in. Certainly, Anna Wintour was thrilled to see her there. But no one paid attention to Fake Paris (or anyone else) once it was announced that Denise Richards and Richie Sambora would be sashaying down the red carpet. And then there they were, embracing and handholding like an old married couple. We were hoping Denise would let loose with some of her trademark vitriol, but, sadly, she took the high road and didn’t talk to reporters. Somehow, Richie’s band mate Jon Bon Jovi sensed the buzz, and feigned tiredness so as to avoid questions. Kanye West trotted out his fiancée, Alexis, the “longtime girlfriend” that no one had ever seen him with before, and whose last name and occupation are unknown. In fact, we’re just assuming that was she on his arm. The newest couple, Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson, did that Hollywood thing of arriving separately and walking the red carpet separately so that, um, well, to make people think they’re embarassed to be seen together? 30 Seconds to Mars played a set outside on the street for fans. The group won a VMA award just last week, and lead singer Jared Leto is so psyched to be a rock star that he’s stopped washing his hair, wears makeup, and is strangely inarticulate for someone who is also an actor. |
