New York, July 18, 2006 – Island Def Jam chairman Antonio “L.A.” Reid was the honoree at Tuesday’s UJA-Federation Music Visionary of the Year awards luncheon.

Music and entertainment power types gathered at the Pierre Hotel for the fundraiser, along with some more high-profile personalities. “This is real hip-hop royalty”, Reid said, pointing at his buddies Jay-Z and Russell Simmons. Jay-Z’s protégé Rihanna delivered a knockout performance, and the crowd evidently loved it because they kicked in $750,000 in donations.
