Lindsay Lohan could use a manicure

New York, June 8, 2006 – A-list Hollywood stars dripping with diamonds streamed into Cartier’s elegant Fifth Avenue store for the jeweler’s party celebrating their day of love. Janet Jackson, Ashley Judd, Chloe Sevigny, Spike Lee, Edward Norton and the Scissor Sisters all showed for the launch of the company’s new Love collection. Proceeds from sales of a bracelet will be donated to charities designated by high-profile celebrities.

Liv Tyler wore an Alexander McQueen dress, which, she said, he designed specially for her about three years ago, but she got pregnant, and wasn’t able to fit into it until now. Such problems! Liv was with her husband, rocker Royston Langdon, and she sure is svelte now.

We asked Scarlett Johansson if her Nanny Diaries co-star Alicia Keys shows any promise as an actor. “She’s incredibly talented. A better improv actor than I will ever be, that’s for sure.”

Salma Hayek’s date was designer Narciso Rodriguez, who is a very nice man. Standing next to him at one point, we asked if he made her dress for the evening. “No”, he replied. Red faced, we asked what she’s wearing. “Oscar”, he said (Oscar de la Renta). End of conversation.

Who knew that Lindsay Lohan, who could have used a manicure, was so deep? When a reporter asked her what was the last Web site she visited, she replied, “Probably Perez Hilton”. Asked why she wears Karl Lagerfeld all the time, Lindsay said, “I live and breathe for Karl”.

Jeremy Piven arrived late, and avoided questions about his toilet incident by speaking constantly on his cell phone until he was safely lost in the crowd.

Sarah Jessica Parker relaxed and stayed awhile; no repeat of that morning’s sudden departure.
