New York, June 20, 2006 – The Walt Disney Company, that bastion of family values, has finally embraced all types of families, and gave a special nod to Gay Pride month with a fairy extravaganza at the Licensing Show at the Javits Center. The company will send its message of tolerance directly into homes via its new direct-to-video “Disney Fairies” line of movies. The first in the series will feature Brittany Murphy as the voice of Tinker Bell, who was previously unable to speak, but now, no doubt, will become a strong “womyn”. (This Tinker Bell is Peter Pan’s sidekick, not Paris Hilton’s dog.) Murphy joined Disney execs at the licensing trade show on Tuesday, where, surrounded by her posse of fairies, she said a few words and was given a token necklace. |
