New York, June 4, 2006 – Look for Lindsay Lohan to trade her Jimmy Choos for Birkenstocks now that she’s trying to appeal to the NPR crowd in A Prairie Home Companion, the movie version of the beloved radio show. We crunched through granola to the Directors’ Guild of America Theater on Sunday for the premiere. Star Garrison Keillor had on the red Saucony sneakers he wore in the film, and called them his lucky shoes. Why are they lucky? “Well, they’re red.” He bought them online, “You just google ‘red sneakers’”. So why did he want red? “Well, I wear red socks, so why not red shoes?” Lily Tomlin delivered a delightful non sequitur when she announced that she got her necklace in England. Her date for the evening was Lauren Bacall; they’re doing a movie together. Kevin Kline was sporting a Michael Douglas-style long white beard. The whole Lohan family accompanied Lindsay to the premiere – sister Aliana, brothers Michael and Cody and mom Dina – although none of the ladies wore sneakers. Meryl Streep headed home after the screening, but her daughter Grace continued on to the Hudson Hotel after party, where she shot pool with Lindsay. Spiderman hottie James Franco chatted with Lindsay while smoking out in the garden, and when her sizable entourage left the party, he joined them. Most likely they went to sit on the porch and shoot the breeze. |
