New York, May 8, 2006 – Time magazine celebrated its annual list of the100 most influential people issue with a dinner at – you’ll never guess where – the Time Warner Center. While not all of the influential 100 were there – these are busy people, after all – the dinner did make for an eclectic bunch. The Dixie Chicks, the country group infamous for Bush-bashing, entertained a crowd that included the president’s right hand, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Sean “Diddy” Combs seemed unperturbed by the presence of his former flame, Jennifer Lopez, and her husband Marc Anthony. Martha Stewart was a free woman at this year’s dinner. She wore her house-arrest ankle bracelet to last year’s gala, when her attendance there got her into a spot for violating the terms of her sentence. Ann Coulter, Al Franken and Arianna Huffington were in the same room. New York Daily News owner Mort Zuckerman faced his classified ad-stealing nemesis, Craigslist founder Craig Newmark. The guest list was primarily American, with the exception of Korean pop star Rain, who is reportedly poised to infliuence us by breaking into the U.S. market. |
