New York, April 18, 2006 – Celebrity magazines may be over, but Conde Nast Traveler seems to be sailing along just fine. The glossy vacation bible christened the not-yet-open Buddha Bar with their annual Hot List party. The mag bills it’s “Hot List” as the “insiders guide to this year’s hippest hotels, most fabulous restaurants, chicest spas, and hottest bars and clubs around the world”. Bhudda Bar is located in the indispensable-for-the-upscale-traveler meatpacking district. It’s so meta. But will Bhudda Bar attract a crowd this glittering once it opens? Mandy Moore and her American Dreamz co-star Dennis Quaid, Oscar winners Susan Sarandon and Marcia Gay Harden, dancing king Drew Lachey, and the notorious Gretchen Mol all stumbled over the cobblestoned street for the party. Sarah Jessica Parker said she’ll spend time this summer at her beach house, and she and son James will trek into the city to visit Matthew Broderick, who will be working on a movie. Farther from home, Parker loves Greece, and is dying to visit the Maldives. SJP’s Sex and the City co-star Cynthia Nixon really took the show to heart, and doesn’t travel much. “New York City gets a grip on you. You don’t want to leave”. Nixon must be happy; she looked radiant at the party. Lindsay Lohan said that she loves to travel, and wishes she had more time off, so she could. If Lindsay had gone to college instead of working as a movie star, she would have Spring break trips to look forward to. |
