New York, April 3, 2006 – We thought we’d stumbled upon a
new love match Monday at U.N. Headquarters in New York, when tennis champ
Roger Federer waited for Latin pop superstar Shakira,
whose plane was late in arriving. The top-ranked tennis player was named
the newest U.N. Goodwill Ambassador, and had finished conducting interviews,
but waited around for another 30 minutes for the Colombian singer, also
a UNIICEF ambassador, to arrive. As attractive a couple as these two would
make, our hopes for a scoop were dashed, as each had their significant
other in tow.
