New York, April 5-7, 2006 – We inadvertently ran into a slew of high-profile politicians, who all came to visit us in the New York City area this week. On Wednesday we dashed up to Bridgeport, CT, where President Bush addressed a panel on Health Care Savings Accounts. W’s plan involves putting $1 million into a savings account for each of your children, and with interest accruing over the years, they’ll have enough saved to cover medical expenses. We’re kidding! Kidding! The president knows that most people don’t have a million dollars. And the solution for the rest of us to obtain health care is… Um, well, that’s enough questions for now. The next day, we misread a press release and ended up at the Thurgood Marshall Academy in Harlem, where former Secretary of State Colin Powell insisted that he was not the Irish actor Colin Farrell, who was actually downtown at the Gen Art Film Festival. So we left. We’ll have to take some money out of our Health Care Savings Account and have our vision checked. And on Friday, former FEMA director Michael Brown participated in the New School’s Urban Policy Conference. When your city is threatened with natural disaster, Brown recommends immediately getting into your private jet and flying to your country house in Connecticut. And keep a copy of your Health Care Savings Account number with you, should you need medical assistance. |
