New York, Feb. 9, 2006 – Famed designer-to-the-country-stars Manuel told us that he wasn’t a bit nervous about his first-ever New York fashion show on Friday. And it seems that wasn’t just bravado; he spent the night before the show partying with Neil Young at a screening of his live concert documentary, Neil Young: Heart of Gold, shot during two nights at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Manuel’s hometown. And not only southerners paid tribute to the legendary Young; actors Meryl Streep, Marcia Gay Harden, Nick Nolte, Timothy Hutton, Liev Schreiber and Jeff Daniels and directors Sidney Lumet and Jim Jarmusch all munched popcorn at the Lincoln Center screening. Most impressive was the presence of Odetta and Ornette Coleman, both music legends themselves.
