New York, December 4-10, 2005 – We love our Desperate Housewives, but heading out to Wollman Rink – that’s ice skating - in Central Park – that’s outdoors - early on a freezing morning to see Nicollette Sheridan open a photo booth for Crest Whitestrips was a bit much. (Hey Crest – might we suggest a nice set inside a heated studio, with coffee perking, for the next one? Think about that.) It was so cold that Nicollette couldn’t get the giant scissor to cut the ribbon. After several attempts, she gave up and ripped the thing off with her hands. It was much warmer that same evening at Frederick’s, where Mischa Barton hosted a party to unveil her new ad campaign for Keds. It was so toasty, in fact, that Mischa couldn’t bear to wear the proper shoes with her strappy little dress, and she tooled around the club in a pair of canvas Keds instead. Auto racing champ Jeff Gordon greeted fans and unveiled his new Tag Heuer timepiece. Now we can’t decide between this one and the Paris Hilton watch. “I don’t believe in jet lag”, Mariah Carey told us on Wednesday in New York. She was referring to her schedule, which took her from London to Las Vegas for the Billboard Awards on Tuesday. The following morning in New York, she sat on a bed and read to Fresh Air Fund kids while retiring Peter Pan Cathy Rigby flew through the air. That evening, Carey was honored by the Recording Academy, and early the next morning, she participated in announcing the Grammy nominees. It seemed to us that something was missing when Lindsay's kid sister, Ali Lohan, and mom Dina visited kids at a Ronald McDonald House celebrity event. Ali signed copies of the CD Totally Awesome Christmas, on which she has a video. Hmmm….something just seemed lacking. Oh, right! Celebrities! Ali and Dina are celebrities? |
