New York, October 27, 2005 – It was a big night for Broadway on
Thursday, when The Odd Couple opened with Nathan Lane
and Matthew Broderick playing to a packed house. First
to take in the revival starring The Producers’ magic duo
were Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld, Kathleen
Turner, Regis and Joy Philbin,
Martin Short, and, of course, Broderick’s wife,
Sarah Jessica Parker. The Odd Couple first hit
the boards 40 years ago, and playwright Neil Simon, still
going strong, stepped onto the stage for a bow. The Odd Couple
sold out its entire run, but we’ll all get the chance to see Lane
and Broderick in December, when the movie version of The Producers
hits theaters.
