New York, October 29, 2005 – Karl Lagerfeld loves little old Italian ladies, and Saturday night he threw an 80th birthday party for one of his favorites, named Fendi. A fashiony crowd, many in Halloween costumes, partied way down on the tip of Manhattan at the old Cunard Building at 25 Broadway. Designer Zac Posen was theatrical in a top hat and cape, white makeup with a white fox tossed over his shoulder. Valentino was more understated with a mega tan. With cramming for her NYU classes, Ashley Olsen didn’t have time to put on a costume. Karl wore a suit with silver gloves, and we’re not sure if that was a costume or not. Meanwhile, the birthday girl is not finished celebrating; on Wednesday, she’s opening a new Fendi store on Fifth Avenue. |
