Condoleeza Rice visits New York, but Doesn't Contribute to Economy
Condoleeza Rice & Mr. Met at City Hall to endorse a New York City Olympic bid
Condi takes on the U.N.

New York, June 28 – And you thought Tom Cruise was nuts. U.S. Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice was in New York City on Tuesday, stopping at City Hall to support the city’s 2012 Olympics bid, and then later visiting the United Nations. She didn’t hit Barney’s, Bergdorf’s or even Bloomingdale’s. The woman is certifiable.

The Olympics press conference came to a halt when a reporter asked Rice if she will run for president in 2008, but we saw her mouth the word, “No”, and shake her head, smiling slightly. Oscar de la Renta designed the U.S. Olympic uniforms, and billionaire Mayor Bloomberg joked that he’s never worn a de la Renta suit because he couldn’t afford one. Later at the U.N., Condi didn’t speak to reporters, but she did exchange air kisses with U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan. But no pit stop at Marc Jacobs? Weird.
