May 9-15 – Friday the 13th was a lucky night for a Mexican orphanage, when Molly Sims hosted the Night with the Friends of El Faro to support the facility. Andy Garcia, Shannen Doherty, Sherilyn Fenn and handsome Josh Duhamel all partied at the Music Box in Hollywood, and helped raise big bucks. Some of the daytime Emmy awards were announced on Saturday in L.A., and ex-con Martha Stewart’s defunct show, Martha Stewart Living, earned one in the service category. Not to worry, Martha’s coming back to TV this fall with some new projects. Ellen DeGeneres, Oprah Winfrey and Regis Philbin also got nods along with soap operas and children’s programs. Priscilla Presley was making the rounds this week, talking up a new documentary, Elvis by the Presleys, which aired on Friday, plus a companion book and CD. She says that the major difference between her project and the hundreds of other Elvis books is that in this one, the family tells it their way. Priscilla was one of the big stars that appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman this week, and she is certainly lovely, but Layla the pig turned out to be the biggest charmer on Dave’s show; she had Sting and Samuel L. Jackson enchanted. |
