New York, April 26-27 – Tensions were high at the Tribeca Film Festival screening of Slingshot, mainly because one of the film’s stars is David Arquette, best friend of godmother to his daughter Coco, Jennifer Aniston, and her ex, Brad Pitt. Reporters were warned ahead of time not to ask about the Pitt split, but of course everyone did, making the fidgety Arquette even more guarded. (And yes, that was a pea green suit he was wearing.) We’re not sure if Mario Vazquez looks different or his fifteen minutes are officially over, but nobody recognized the American Idol dropout; he had to be introduced like an unknown. The morning after the premiere, the film’s stars participated in a panel discussion, and when someone asked Thora Birch who designed her clothing, she snapped, “It’s just a f--king dress!”
