Los Angeles March 23 – It’s good to know that at least some people have kept their jobs during the tumultuous post-dot.com media meltdown. For instance, Mark Steines has been an Entertainment Tonight correspondent since 1995, and Sandra Bullock has been Miss Congeniality since 2000. At the premiere of Miss Congeniality 2, we got misty-eyed as these two survivors mused over their delightful encounter of four years ago, when the original Congeniality made its debut. Reminding Steines that he’d scolded her back then for chewing gum during interviews, making her spit hers out, Bullock turned the tables last night: “Well, you’re chewing gum, so spit it out”, she said, putting her hand out to receive it. Steines obediently opened his mouth and dropped the gum into Bullock’s waiting hand. She then stuck the wad onto the metal barricade, finished her interview, and greeted a group of drag queens. |
