New York, February 4-11 – With all of the parties during New York fashion week thrown by fabulous fashion magazines, luxury retailers, record labels and fashion designers, who would have guessed that the biggest one was hosted by none other than Coca Cola? The company celebrated a new ad campaign called “Make It Real” with a late-night bash at Marquee that had fashion designers, Hollywood types, rappers and models packing the club. Naomi Campbell and Foxy Brown were ensconced at tables smack in the middle of the dance floor – surrounded by security, natch. After Anne Hathaway arrived, she and her boyfriend disappeared into an intimate corner. We chatted up designer Roberto Cavalli, and he was charming and talkative, with a thick Italian accent, but kept mum on who he’s dressing for the Oscars. Shannon Doherty bopped to the music at her table, and Ashley Olsen slipped in and out a side door – photographs strictly verboten. We stopped at the Coke party after Zac Posen’s post-show fete at the swanky Four Seasons Restaurant. P. Diddy hosted, and while Vivica Fox, Ashanti and Bernadette Peters attended, the party was decidedly lower in celebrity wattage than Posen’s fashion show. It seems lots of folks went for dinner and headed straight to the late-night parties - Stevie Wonder and Cam’ron were at Posen’s after-after, downtown. Fashion week opened with a show called “Heart Truth”, promoting heart disease awareness among women. First Lady Laura Bush was front row while Sheryl Crow, Vanessa Williams, Sarah Ferguson and Shohreh Aghdashloo strutted the catwalk in red dresses. Lots of models relaxed that evening at an after party at intimate Chelsea nightspot Cain. |
