Los Angeles, February 14 – At first we thought half the men in Hollywood used the Valentine’s Day premiere of Be Cool as an I-forgot-to-make-dinner-reservations-and-buy-chocolates date, but then we realized that they’re mostly in the movie. Be Cool reunites Pulp Fiction costars John Travolta and Uma Thurman, and also stars Jennifer Aniston’s “friend”, Vince Vaughn. But everyone from Cedric the Entertainer to Harvey Keitel to Steven Tyler appears in the film, and they all walked the red carpet.

And red was everywhere, it being Valentine’s Day. Uma Thurman wore a short, sparkly red dress – with a heart pattern all over it. Anna Nicole Smith, also in red, loudly announced, “I’m looking for a Valentine’s date”. We confused Anna when we asked her to show some leg through her slit-up-to-here, sheer dress. She promptly pulled the dress closed, alarmed, thinking she was having a wardrobe malfunction. “No, show us your legs”, we enunciated, and were rewarded with a big smile and a lot of leg.

It seems that Usher has a new lady friend; his date was the same woman he brought to the Grammys. How long will Kirstie Alley’s new show, Fat Actress, last? It looked to us like Alley has lost some weight. John Travolta and Kelly Preston’s little daughter, Ella, walked just a few feet up the red carpet, and then changed her mind amidst the flashbulbs and noise. Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas arrived late, as did Alicia Keys, who slipped in the back door of Grauman’s Chinese.
