New
York, September 8 – We’re not sure what they have
in common, but fashion met music at a star-studded concert
called Fashion Rocks. Avril Lavigne, Mary
J. Blige, Beyonce Knowles, Usher,
Faith Hill, Outkast’s Andre
3000, Rod Stewart, Alicia
Keys, Black Eyed Peas and Hoobastank did the rocking.
Models Naomi Campbell, Karolina Kurkova,
and Sophie Dahl lent some fashion flash to
the crowd of too-many-to-list-here celebrities. A few people
even embodied both rock and fashion: clothing designer Stella
McCartney is the daughter of Beatle Paul
McCartney, while jewelry designer Jade Jagger
and models Alexandra and Theodora
Richards are the offspring of Rolling Stones Mick
Jagger and Keith Richards, respectively.
Beyonce
performed solo, but her Destiny’s Child band mates Kelly
Rowland and Michelle Williams were
on hand. The three have reunited; their new album is due in
November, and they performed together again for the first
time at the next day’s NFL season kickoff in Massachusetts.
One unexpected encounter came when Alicia Keys and Tony
Danza met for the first time. Each was visibly delighted
to meet the other; they kissed and seemed thrilled with the
moment.
Don’t
feel left out if you weren’t invited. The concert will
be broadcast September 26 on Fox TV.
