Pasadena,
CA , May 15 – Simon Cowell said that
America has gone mad for allowing American Idol reject
Will Hung to close KIIS FM’s Wango
Tango On-Air festival on Saturday. The fabulously untalented
Hung reprised his Idol fiasco, She Bangs,
to end the 14-hour concert. Another Idol alum, Clay
Aiken, played the superstar, only allowing the press
to shoot photos during the first two minutes of his first
two songs. No such restrictions for unknowns like Lenny
Kravitz, N.E.R.D., Backstreet Boys, Good Charlotte
and the Black Eyed Peas.
Janet
Jackson managed to keep her breasts tucked in as
she lip synced and danced her way through a couple of songs.
Enrique Iglesias managed to keep fiancé
Anna Kournikova tucked somewhere backstage
– she was there but we couldn’t find her. Some
siblings were on hand – Hilary Duff
brought her sister Hayley out to do a song,
and brunette Ashlee Simpson introduced her
blonde sister Jessica. Jessica was her erudite
self, saying, “It’s so nice to not have backup
dancers and learn routines and be able to just sing without
a backup tape.” (We’re working on having that
translated, folks; we’ll get back to you with what this
bit of wisdom means for your life.) We love Jessica. What
was that about America having gone mad? America may not be
mad for the group Busted, but Britain is. The band, used to
playing stadiums in the UK, performed on a side stage at midnight
for about 2,500 fans. Wango was their only U.S. appearance
- they flew in from Tokyo for the concert, and then left the
country the following day.
