Los Angeles, May 16 –The planners of all of those dull Hollywood awards shows need to bring in the folks who put on the World Stunt Awards. Stat. Big name stars got a taste of what the unknown stunt performers do at Sunday’s awards on a Paramount Studios lot. Carmen Electra and host Dennis Hopper skydived onto the stage from an airplane. Actor Brendan Fraser leapt off a 10-story building and crashed through glass. S.W.A.T. star Michelle Rodriguez arrived onstage courtesy of a car chase. Arnold Schwarzenegger took time from his governor’s duties to attend, as he has every year, albeit extra security made him late. Electra’s husband Dave Navarro, Sarah Michelle Gellar, The O.C.’s Adam Brody and Burt Reynolds all thrilled to flame-engulfed stuntmen and onstage explosions. Keanu Reeves, his usual jolly self, was honored as action movie star of the year, but we think Johnny Knoxville deserved an award just for wearing that hot pink blazer.
