New
York, April 9-12– EXCLUSIVE – What did
you do on Good Friday? Ashton Kutcher and
Demi Moore rang in the Sabbath mystic-style
at the New York Kabbalah Centre. Moore wore gray pants and
black sweater while Kutcher was all in white, traditional
dress code for men at Kabbalah ceremonies. Friday evening’s
Passover 2004 agenda included candle lighting ceremony, Minchah
service, “Kabbalat Shabbat”, followed by Kiddush
and dinner. Moore didn’t bring her children, although
the place was swarming with them; one happy kid came over
and told us he loved the dessert – sorbet.
Chauffeuring celebrities
must not be such a hot job – Moore’s driver is
studying business administration. He put down his books at
12:30 AM, when his passengers were ready. Once ensconced in
the giant black GMC Denali SUV, Kutcher lowered the window,
and we admonished him for keeping us out late working on a
Friday night. He looked us straight in the eye, and, with
the wisdom of the ancients, said, “You had a choice”.
It turns out the super-couple weren’t just in town for
religious purposes. Bright and early Monday morning, Kutcher
was on the Lower East Side for the first day of shooting the
movie A Lot Like Love, with Amanda Peet.
