New
York, March 7-9 - Johnny Depp didn’t
come to the premiere of his new film, Secret Window,
and, according to our inside sources at Sony Pictures, Depp
had an ear infection, or the flu, and thus was unable to fly.
He had to remain where he was, which was either in Paris or
L.A. “I’m not sure”, said our source. In
order to “save” the less than star-studded premiere,
Sony rustled up Will Smith to make an appearance,
even though he’s not in the thriller. (Works for us
– we’re publishing it.)
Go figure - despite
his non-credited cameo role in Jersey Girl, Smith
did not show up two days later for that movie’s
premiere, but star Ben Affleck talked about
him. “I think Will Smith is an enormously talented guy,
and you can see by his cameo in this movie, you know, and
I got to see firsthand from working with him, one of the reasons
why he’s been so incredibly successful is that he’s
such a likeable presence. You can see his sort of inner goodness
shines through. You know what I mean?” Affleck plays
a single father in the film, and some of the inner goodness
of the baby he worked with also shone through. “The
baby did vomit on me and defecate several times. I understand
that’s common with babies”, he told us. The baby’s
poor manners must have traumatized Jennifer Lopez,
who plays the mother, because she didn’t join cast members
George Carlin, Liv Tyler
and Jason Biggs for the debut and party at
Hard Rock Cafe.
