February 9-10 - During Monday and Tuesday’s fashion shows, the big smackdown was between Marc Jacobs and Narciso Rodriguez. Open All Night’s impartial judges declare Narciso the winner, with Sarah Jessica Parker, Jerry Seinfeld, Joan Rivers, Diane Sawyer, Kristin Davis, CBS honcho Les Moonves and Claire Danes. Jacobs was only able to scrape up Vincent Gallo, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Gina Gershon and Daryl Hannah for his front row. Meanwhile, Sarah Jessica Parker better line up a new job quick. We asked what she wanted from Rodriguez' show. "Oh, the last ten outfits", she replied.

While no designer has so far attracted a Hollywood A-list, First Lady Laura Bush gave the shows a shot, making a speech at the tents on Monday in support of The Red Dress initiative, to raise awareness of heart disease among women. If you want to see Mrs. Bush’s used clothes, she’s donated an Oscar de la Renta suit to the group, which will be sending a collection of red dresses by American designers to various cities. The First Lady played it right, and did not attend any fashion shows in order to avoid showing favoritism. Supposedly she is the only First Lady to have made an appearance at Fashion Week.

Adding even more class to the goings on, train wreck Anna Nicole Smith arrived at zany Betsey Johnson’s show in a TrimSpa bus! Hey, that plus Dunkin Donuts as one of Fashion Week’s sponsors, and the whole thing is way high-end.
