February
10 – Louis Vuitton threw a giant bash celebrating both
the opening of their humongous new Fifth Avenue store plus
the luxury goods firm’s 150th anniversary. The party
was in two tiers. Picture a multi-level Home Depot-sized store
filled with $1500 handbags and packed wall to wall with Naomi
Campbell, Eve, Pharrell
Williams, Donna Karan, Iman,
Rudy and Judi Giuliani and
Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith
and you've got part 1. Then everybody shuttled over to Lincoln
Center, where Kirstin Dunst, Maggie
Gyllenhaal, Kristin Davis, Marc
Jacobs (Vuitton's fashion designer) and many others
partied late into the night amdist flowing champagne, and
a short film detailing the esteemed Vuitton's 150-year history.
Arriving at Lincoln Center, opera buff Giluliani joked to
us, "Maybe we should go to the opera! What's playing
tonight?"
