March 30 - Nasty
weather didn't keep a glittering crowd from turning out for
The Play What I Wrote's Broadway opening. Transplanted
from the London stage, the comedy features a revolving door
of celebrity guest stars - first up in New York was Kevin
Kline. Billy Crystal told us he came because he
heard that it's hilarious, with great direction by Kenneth
Branagh. Caroline Kennedy, Alan Cumming,
Diane Sawyer and Mike Nichols, Roger Moore,
Natalie Portman, Lee Radziwill, British comic
Eddie Izzard, Sam Rockwell, Rosie Perez,
Barry Diller and Diane Von Furstenburg and lots
of other bold-faced names apparently all heard the same buzz.
