October 15 - We
don't talk about it in polite society, but the open secret
is that the Paris, Milan and New York fashion shows gang raped
the Grammy Awards. Even more shocking, this union begat a
child! Yes, folks, we bring you the VH1/Vogue Fashion Awards.
We're not sure
exactly what this award ceremony is - best rock star who dresses?
- but it brought out scores of Celebs, and let's face it,
that's much more fun than some boring war with Iraq.
Debra Messing,
of TV's Will and Grace, hosted the televised event
wearing a wedding cake designed by Alexander McQueen.
McQueen won the award for Revolutionary Designer. (Note to
VH1/Vogue - you may want to rename that one in these terrorism-ridden
days.) Jennifer Lopez won the Most Influential Artist
of the Year award. J. Lo is a big star, plus she has a groovy
boyfriend with whom she swaps $130,000 gifts every Saturday,
according to the tabloids. We're buying a Bentley just like
hers - that's influence. Another resume-builder went to Gwyneth
Paltrow, who won the award for Red Carpet. It is gratifying
when your talent is recognized.
