October 8 - 10
- Movies are bursting out like blossoms in June. A screening
of Nazi death camp tale The Grey Zone was aptly held
on New York's Lower East Side, home to many Jewish refugees.
Joining the film's stars David Arquette, Lisa Benavides-Nelson,
Mira Sorvino, Harvey Keitel and Natasha Lyonne
were Rosie O'Donnell and actress Holly Hunter.
A gang of young
movie stars-in-the-making turned out for the premiere of The
Rules of Attraction, based on Brett Easton Ellis'
novel of self-absorbed rich college kids. Future household
names James Van Der Beek, Shannyn Sossamon,
Ian Somerhalder, "Felicity's" Scott Foley, "Ed's"
Justin Long and "Dawson's Creek's" Meredith Monroe
prettied up the party. The film's more seasoned stars Faye
Dunaway, Eric Stolz and Swoosie Kurtz stayed
home.
Comedy Central
previewed Porn 'n Chicken at Studio 54. The film is
based on the true story of an underground Yale University
group that gathers weekly to eat fried chicken and watch pornography.
The group eventually made their own porn film featuring fellow
students as actors. This movie also stars up and comers like
Ginnifer Goodwin of TV's "Ed", whose Hollywood buddies
Kirsten Dunst, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Julia
Stiles came out to support her. Not a bad bunch to have
on speed dial. Watch it on Comedy Central October 13. Fried
chicken optional.
