October 28 - Not to be outdone by the men folk at GQ (see below), the13th annual Glamour Women of the Year Awards recognized female achievers including vampire slayer Sarah Michelle Gellar, songbird Alanis Morissette, news anchor Katie Couric, actress Sigourney Weaver, World Trade Center survivor Lauren Manning, Columbia Pictures chairman Amy Pascal and Enron whistleblower Sherron Watkins. Interesting personalities in the crowd included Hillary Clinton, Anita Hill, Angela Bassett and Freddie Prinze Jr., who Sarah Michelle Gellar conquered and married. The festivities were at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Jennifer Lopez came solo, sneaking in and out via a side door to avoid the press.
